Boudoir Portrait Vouchers raise over £900 at Keeping Abreast Fashion Shows!

25th April 2015
Julia's specialist Boudoir Portrait service offered exclusive vouchers at the recent Keeping Abreast "More Than Just Fashion Shows" and raised over £900 by donating the full face value of the vouchers to the charity.

Whilst this is the first time that boudoir portraits have been offered, Julia has previously offered family portrait vouchers at the charity's events, raising over £2000.

Combined with the donation from the sales of event prints at the Keeping Abreast Valentine's Ball in February, this brings the total raised for Keeping Abreast by all-about-image to more than £1200 in 2015!

Julia briefly talked about her support for the charity on stage at the recent fashion shows, where she was interviewed by BBC's Sara Thornton. She has been supporting the charity for more than 6 years, photographing the 2010 calendar in 2009, which raised more than £3000... When asked by Sara why she was so involved with the charity, Julia said that she is always inspired by the women that she meets in connection with Keeping Abreast and that the charity has become "second nature" and was "like a family".

40 portraits of women who have undergone breast reconstruction surgery following breast cancer or who were at high risk of cancer were displayed at the 2 day Fashion Shows. The collection began almost 2 years ago and is entitled "Femininity Comes from Within". And the collection continues to grow, with more than 6 new volunteers it is expected to have 50 portraits by early Summer.

It is hoped that the portraits will be exhibited nationally this year.
