Julia scoops MPA award 2010

22nd October 2010
Julia is the first photographer to be awarded Best Diploma Workbook 2010 in the recent Master Photographer of the Year Awards. The awards are run by the The Master Photographers Association (MPA), the UK's only organisation exclusively for professional photographers.

The announcement was made at the Master Photography Awards in Birmingham. A packed audience of professional photographers and trade representatives from all around the world attended the prestigious event held at the Hilton Metropole. The event was hosted by legendary comedian Tom O'Connor, who entertained the guests throughout a glittering evening.

The MPA set up the Diploma in Photographic Practice to provide a recognised qualification in all round business and professional competence. All new members must successfully complete the diploma before recognition as a fully qualified member. A comprehensive workbook of evidence is prepared by each candidate. This covers business plans, marketing, customer care, health and safety and detailed photographic skills.

The MPA diploma is run by Trevor Lewis Hon FMPA DipPP who is a nationally accredited NVQ Assessor. Trevor was delighted to be able to present this brand new award to Julia. He commented, “Julia’s hard work in preparing the workbook for her diploma has earned her recognition from the MPA. Her submission was excellent and we are proud to welcome new members of this calibre to the association.”
